We need to come together across the country and march to demand that Congress do their job and open a full, public, non-partisan, and independent investigation into Trump’s connections to Russia. Tati Zenni is the event organizer and is in process of making it a national effort.
On Monday, February 13th, Michael Flynn resigned as National Security Adviser after lying about his conversations with Russia about U.S. sanctions during Trump’s transition into office. Then, it came out that Trump’s campaign team was in repeated contact with Russian intelligence officials during his presidential campaign.
Trump has been withholding his tax returns as well, which could reveal conflicts of interest or financial ties he has to Russia or anyone else.
Democratic and Republican Senators alike have called for this necessary and important investigation, but Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are still pushing against it. Jason Chaffetz, the chairman of the United States House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, spent millions of dollars on 7 investigations against Hillary Clinton on Benghazi but is now refusing to investigate Trump’s ties to Russia. Instead, Chaffetz has opened up an investigation into Sid the Science Kid which, for those who don’t know, is a child’s cartoon show on PBS.
We need to keep the pressure on Congress for as long as it takes. This can’t just be brushed under the rug, because the American people need transparency in our government and we deserve to know the truth.
Let’s make our voices heard on Saturday, March 18th and march to demand that Congress do their job and open up this important investigation into Trump’s ties to Russia.
