Revenge porn is the nonconsensual sharing of sexual images or videos with the intent to shame or humiliate the victim. This is a gendered crime and a global injustice. Cyber sexual assaults are directly coorolated to physical partner violence, emotional trauma, stalking, harrassment, relocation, and lack of employment.
The March Against Revenge Porn is a social movement, social media campaign, and march coming to New York City on Saturday, April 1, 2017. At 1:00 PM, marchers will meet at the corner of Cadman Plaza East and Prospect St. in Brooklyn near the Brooklyn Bridge Stairway entrance. We will proceed to march accross the Brooklyn Bridge and finish in City Hall Plaza where we will briefly discuss why we are fighting for anti-revenge porn legislation.
The March Against Revenge Porn aims to create a community for victims and allies, develop a platform for the victim voices, share resources, fight to criminalize revenge porn at a national level, and educate all people about their cyber civil rights.
