Sister March to the Native Nations March on Washington D. C. occuring the same day.
This will be a fully permitted peaceful march in downtown Columbia culminating inside the Capital at the Rotunda.
Please wear regalia if possible.

THE MARCH FOR ALL OUR RELATIVES
The South Carolina Indian Affairs Commission will hold the Native Nations March on South Carolina on March 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM in Columbia, South Carolina as the sister march to the Native Nations March on Washington, D.C.
The March will begin in the upper Main Street business district and commence at the State Capital Rotunda.
The Native Nations March, created to bring awareness to Native American Rights, the numerous treaty violations, especially at Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, where an illegal oil pipeline will desecrate their sacred sites and cause extensive environmental damage, and to focus attention on Native American’s unique value system of protecting the Earth and the natural world.
South Carolina’s historic tribal leaders and members will lead the march with non-native supporters invited to march in solidarity. The state recognized tribes in South Carolina will also be marching about the many issues they wish to address in the near future, including the release of their ancestor’s remains from South Carolina’s institutions.
350Columbia will collaborate with the March to relay information on how to divest from banks that support violations of Native American Treaty Rights.
This is a peaceful March reflective of the Native American values of prayer and embracing our fellow citizens of South Carolina as our neighbors. No foul language or aggressive behavior allowed.
Signs are welcome which reflect the support of Native American Rights, that support the preservation of the environment including no-Dakota Access Pipeline, Save Oak Flat, Save Mauna Kea, etc. or signs showing support for South Carolina’s tribes. Please leave signs and pink hats, etc. from other marches at home as they will detract from the message of this particular march. We request that Native American marchers please wear regalia and bring hand drums and rattles. For those marching with us, please respect our cultures and do not wear pseudo-Native American attire such as headdresses, feathers or other costuming.

Our parking/ assembly location and start point will be at the parking lot of Christ Central at Main and Calhoun. It's on the block with Main, Elmwood, Calhoun and Sumter Streets on each side of the block.
There's plenty of parking on the backside by Sumter Street for everyone joining the march.
