Rise and Resist - protest Medicaid block grants

A number of self-advocates have been working with a group called Rise and Resist to plan a protest around Medicaid block grants, and we hope many self-advocates and Medicaid supporters will join us.

Block grants would change Medicaid from an entitlement program (one that accepts everyone who qualifies) to one that would turn people away or limit benefits once a state runs out of the fixed block of money given by the federal government each year. This change effectively means cuts to Medicaid, and that would be devastating to the lives of people with disabilities who rely on it.
