Raíz at Wellesley

In response to the election of illegitimate president-elect Donald J. Trump, Latinx students at Wellesley came together to create Raíz. We’re currently pushing to protect undocumented students and staff from Trump’s plans by supporting a petition created by faculty to declare Wellesley a sanctuary campus. We’re also developing ties with an immigrant rights movement and a local elementary school. Raiz, spanish for the word “root,” draws inspiration from the proverb: “They tried to bury us, they didn’t know we were seeds.”
